Teachers in Year 3 of the OREP will participate in the Resident Educator Summative Assessment. The RESA is a performance-based assessment that resident educators must successfully pass. The assessment calls for resident educators to demonstrate their ability to design and implement instruction that: engages students in complex thinking; and uses formative and summative assessments to inform their teaching practices. The RESA is composed of 4 Tasks, is completed digitally, and is facilitated through a third party, Educopia. Passing RESA is one of 2 requirements that teachers must meet in order to obtain their 5-Year Professional License.
